The Winter Series trot championship took place at Batavia Downs on Tuesday afternoon, with Tulsa Bell securing her third consecutive victory. Driver Kyle Cummings guided the horse to triumph in the $13,000 final.
Early in the race, Ray Fisher Jr.’s Andy Over led briefly before Jim McNeight Jr.’s stablemate Vondell Kemp assumed control at the quarter-mile mark in :29.1. However, Shawn McDonough’s Gone Goodbye emerged with a challenging move, with Tulsa Bell following closely behind.
As the field progressed up the backstretch, Gone Goodbye faltered, forcing Tulsa Bell to swing three-deep heading to three-quarters. The determined trotter surged forward, pulling decisively ahead down the stretch. Tulsa Bell prevailed by one-quarter length, posting a time of 2:02 and paying $4.50 to win.
Owned by John Byler and trained by Tammy Cummings, Tulsa Bell extended her winning streak to three races.
