Harsh winter conditions marked racing day at Batavia Downs on Tuesday afternoon, with snow flurries and wind chills reaching minus-15 degrees.

The featured $7,500 Class-B trot showcased Wild Bill Kelso’s dominance. Driven by Brett Beckwith, the horse flew off the wings to the front and commanded the race at every station, finishing 3¼ lengths ahead in 2:00.1 at odds of $2.62. Wild Bill Kelso, trained by Sam Smith and owned by El Dorado Stables and Mike Torcello, secured his third victory in five recent starts.

Beckwith earned three wins that day, also piloting Century Grizzly and Twentysevenbelow.
